Our Children

Our Children's Ministry exists to provide a safe environment for children while their parents attend services with peace of mind. Our trained and approved children's volunteers seek to make the most of every opportunity to show the children the love of God and point them to the knowledge of our Lord.

Check-In and Check-Out

Check-in begins 15 minutes prior to the start of service. At the check-in table, you will be greeted by a volunteer who will check in your children and hand you a printed label for your children that includes their name and what class they’re in. If you are a visitor, a team member will assist you with registering your child. All children must be checked in to participate. First time visitors are required to register their children if they want their children to participate in children's ministry.

When picking up your child at any time during or after the service, you will be asked to show the teacher your corresponding parent label to ensure it matches the child’s label. We encourage parents to pick up their children immediately after the service in order for our volunteers to clean and sanitize the area.

Sunday Afternoon Service — 2:30pm

  • Children ages 3 through 4 (pre-K) have supervised play from the start of the service. Childcare also includes teaching from the Praise Factory curriculum - Bible stories, songs, and prayer.

  • Children in Kindergarten through 5th grade attend the first half of the service with their parent(s) before being dismissed for Praise Factory. The Praise Factory curriculum employs stories, prayer, music, and drama to introduce children to Christian theology and doctrine.

  • Children 6th grade and above are encouraged to sit with their parents and participate in service.

What is Praise Factory?

“The Praise Factory is a family of curricula created by Connie Dever, wife of Mark Dever, pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC. The Praise Factory (for K-5th grade) introduce the children to sixteen major biblical truths, common to a systematic theology. As children progress through the curricula, they learn about these truths in greater depth. The children learn Bible stories (and even church history and missionary stories in The Praise Factory grade school curriculum) that reflect these truths. A wide variety of songs, games, crafts and other activities are included, making learning understandable, memorable and fun!"

Security and Safety

We take the safety of children in our care very seriously. We have members who monitor areas near designated child care rooms to ensure your child is secure and protected. In addition, the team member at the check-in desk ensures no children leave the space without supervision. These volunteers are present throughout the service. Children are only dismissed from their class when a parent shows that the number on their parent label matches the number on the child’s sticker.

There will be two caretakers present in each classroom at all times, as well as volunteers to supervise the children. All children's ministry team members have been vetted by a contracted professional background screening agency. All members and volunteers are required to agree with and adhere to our Child Protection Policy, which you can find here.

To prevent any transmittable disease among children, we require children to sanitize their hands and have volunteers wipe down all the surface areas to decontaminate before and after each service.
